Forra Costa Ariola

Monti Sabini are beautiful mountains in the province of Rieti that overlook the Tiber valley and contain many fascinating jewels of nature, Forra Costa Ariola is one of these.
This beautiful gorge, now fossil, winds its way near the small and characteristic village of Roccantica.
The route winds for just over half a kilometer in a fascinating environment, squeezed between rock walls, now dry waterfalls and lush green vegetation. As soon as you reach the gorge you immediately start to get familiar with the environment and the equipment, learning the techniques with the figure eight descender.
As you proceed, open sections alternate with more shallow ones, many descents to be tackled with the rope, the highest of about 20 meters, in a truly fascinating environment between the smooth rock and the intense green of holm oaks and strawberry trees.
This route is ideal for a first approach to canyoning because it will allow us to try the fundamental elements, always giving strong emotions.

Since it is a fossil canyon, it is possible to bring a small rucksack with water, lunch box and energies bars.
We recommend having a good breakfast in the morning, there is a cafè at the meeting point.
At the end of the excursion is possible to join the guides having something to eat and drink at the café.
