Dry Canyoning Forra Costa Ariola

The Monti Sabini are a scenic mountain range in the Rieti province of Italy. They offer a splendid view of the Tiber Valley and host many natural wonders. One of them is the Costa Ariola canyon, a fossilized gorge near the quaint village of Roccantica.
The trail is about half a kilometer long and goes through a lovely landscape of rocky cliffs, dry cascades, and verdant vegetation.
At the entrance of the canyon, you get familiar with the environment and the equipment, and learn how to use the eight-descender device.
Along the way, you encounter different sections, some wide and some narrow. You have to rappel down several drops with ropes, the highest one being around 20 meters.
The scenery is stunning, with smooth stones and the vivid greenery of holm oaks and strawberry trees.
This tour is perfect for beginners who want to try canyoning for the first time. It lets you practice the basic techniques of this sport in a balanced combination of challenge and thrill.

👉 What to bring:
☑️ Hiking clothing, warm and comfortable (to adapt to weather conditions and temperatures)
☑️ warm hat and gloves (hat to be used under the helmet)
☑️ Hiking boots or sneakers
☑️ Backpack
☑️ Bottle of water (min 500ml/person)
